Our primary focus in the age-school program is math and language arts. We also provide science, social science, and physical education classes. Other activities that help children develop their finger and hand control that we incorporate include puzzles, writing, and drawing.
Aside from these participatory activities, your child will be given opportunities for enjoyment and socialization. At Southside Learning Center, we strategically planned our school environment to promote the development and self-esteem of school-age children.
The Southside Learning Center, School age classroom is designed to build and strengthen the developmental areas introduced in our Kindergarten curriculum. Our School Age program provides a combination of physical engagement and education. Your child will be presented with opportunities for fun, socializing and homework. At Southside Learning Center we specially designed our environment to enhance the development and self-esteem of school age children. The School Age classroom allows our children to become skillful and further their abilities and knowledge by focusing on the following areas:
- LANGUAGE ARTS– Reinforces pleasure in the reading process
- SCIENCE– Understands sequencing and logical thinking
- MATH– Develops subtraction and addition concepts and understands numbers
- LIFE SKILLS– Develops lifelong learning skills including respect for others, building self-esteem, honesty, cooperation, and creation of their own individual expressions.
